I was honored to lead activation production for Habitat for Humanity's first brand campaign, "Let's Open the Door," a public art installation tour built to mark 50 years of Habitat's mission and bring the global housing crisis into public view. The concept was simple: transform doors into works of art, each one created by a local artist and rooted in the stories of real homeowners and the communities Habitat serves. The result was something far more expansive, a city-by-city touring exhibition that stopped in nine cities across the United States and London, turning parks, plazas, and public squares into immersive installations that invited passersby to join us, literally.
My role covered everything from identifying and contracting local artists in each market to managing fabrication, logistics, and on-site build in every city. Each installation required coordinating across vendors, artists, local partners, and Habitat's team to ensure the work landed on time, on brand, and true to each community's voice. The campaign ran alongside new research on affordable homeownership, compelling storytelling from Habitat homeowners, and a broader push to bring housing to center stage at a global scale, with the installation serving as the physical anchor for that effort.
